Sustainable organisational development strategies such as the circular economy and holistic systems blur the boundaries between production and consumption. The making of closer kinds of connections and exchanges between organisations and their consumers is seen as key in turning said development strategies into greener practices. In this research area, we seek to build knowledge on: 1. How to form connections between production and consumption in ways that result in more sustainable organisational practices? 2. What kinds of collaborative tools and analytical sensibilities are needed to make organisations and consumers a like to contribute to the forming of closed resource loops? 3. Closer ties between production and consumption might aid us in enacting sustainable transitions but these closer ties also strengthen ‘surveillance capitalism’ – how to balance these effects?
